The Magnolia Residences

Shopping and dining become even more rewarding when you can do both in one convenient location. Thankfully, malls make this possible. However, only a few malls offer a unique combination of rare boutiques, exceptional restaurants, and a relaxed atmosphere without overwhelming crowds — and even fewer have a condominium nearby.

On May 13, I had the chance to experience the lifestyle I could have if I lived at Robinsons Residences, thanks to RJ Ledesma of Mercato Centrale, Anton Diaz of Our Awesome Planet, and Robinsons Residences.

The Magnolia Residences offers both 36 sqm one-bedroom units and 78 sqm executive two-bedroom units. Our media group first visited The Magnolia Residences showroom, which truly wowed us.

It truly felt like shopping and dining were just next door, as the concept is clearly designed to make life convenient for residents of The Magnolia Residences. As part of our itinerary, we headed next to Robinsons Magnolia.

Robinsons Magnolia Food Court

We visited several stores at Robinsons Magnolia, starting with the food court located on the ground floor, where we explored three stores.

Our first stop was C’Verde by Big Chill, the first vegetarian restaurant in the area. There, I enjoyed some delicious Bean and Cheese Taquitos. Next, we visited Zigla. True to its name, zizigla ka talaga (pun intended), as they prepare freshly cooked food. However, we opted to try their pre-prepared Tuna and Cheese Sandwich made with high-fiber whole wheat loaf.

Our final stop was Pad Thai, a store that offers authentic Thai dishes at affordable prices. We got to try their flavorful Pad Thai Chicken.

Considering that we were dining in the mall’s food court, I was impressed by the healthy and delicious options available. I’d definitely recommend this place to those who are health-conscious or mindful of their figure.

Pasalubong Ideas

We satisfied our sweet tooth by visiting a dessert store in Robinsons Magnolia called House of Silvanas. I’ve seen some of their stalls in different malls before, but during this visit, I finally got to try their meringue wafer for the first time. This dessert comes in various flavors — pandan (a bit too sweet for my taste), strawberry (mildly sweet), mango (so-so), and ube (just the right kind of sweet for me). Despite their varying sweetness levels, they were all undeniably luscious.

Next, we visited another dessert store in Robinsons Magnolia called Villa del Conte, which offers authentic Italian chocolates. Their watermelon chocolate is superb, but their praline ball is equally excellent. Gosh, I just loved how both treats satisfied my chocolate cravings!

Restaurants

Sir RJ Ledesma, being the host, warned us that our tummies will be filled with more carbs as we were going to have our dinner at The Clubhouse and Gaucho – two restaurants in Robinsons Magnolia that offer comfort food.

The Clubhouse

The Clubhouse is a house of modern comfort food and its ambiance is cozy since its interiors felt like home. We had Tuyo Rice Bowl with pineapple salsa, Truffle Mushroom Scramble (the flavor is so-so), Hungarian Sausage & Eggs, and Vigan Longganisa Hash (I fell in love with this one the most). I’m going to marry The Clubhouse in the coming days.

Gaucho

The dinner’s mood shifted from cozy to formal as we set foot in the two-level Argentinean-inspired restaurant called Gaucho. I describe the place’s ambiance as formal because it is a fine-dining restaurant. However, the friendly staff makes up for the somewhat stiff atmosphere.

Their Falda ala Cruz (U.S. Beef Shortplate) was tender and delicious. Meanwhile, their Cochino ala Cruz (native suckling pig) didn’t quite appeal to my taste buds. On the other hand, their Cordero Entero ala Cruz (Australian Young Lamb) was flavorful and smelled incredibly fresh.

Since Argentines are known meat lovers, swirling a glass of red wine is a must when dining in an Argentinean-inspired restaurant!

Magnolia Ice Cream House

I don’t know if you guys already know this trivia, but for those who don’t, then this one’s for you: It was in this place where Magnolia Ice Cream House was situated before.

But hey, Robinsons Magnolia has revamped this dessert store in a way that will delight your eyes and leave your tummy satisfied. There are plenty of establishments worth remembering, but I guarantee that all the places we visited truly made our night memorable.

I especially loved Crepe Parfait! With the generous servings of ice cream we had, we never had to scream for more!
