After watching Poltergeist, my friends and I decided to eat at Sumo Sam because none of us had tried eating there. Maybe a few of us knew that this Japanese restaurant in Quezon City is owned by Marvin Agustin, and I really wonder why his restaurants mostly offer Japanese cuisine.
Anyway, Sumo Sam’s ambiance is quite dim, with a hint of Japan’s work of art, just like the ceiling in the photo below.

The waiter approached us, took our order, and we noticed that their waiters had dyed hair and were all slim; I guess they were trying to resemble the common Japanese men.
Jeck and I ordered from the Sumo Donburi section. Donburi, or “bowl,” is a popular Japanese dish where cooked rice is topped with your choice of viands. Jeck ordered Katsudon (P268) and chose pork loin.

Meanwhile, I ordered Gyudon (P298) because our family rarely cooks beef at house so I felt like eating beef that day. Of course, it is served with raw egg. This sweet dish with a flavor of soy sauce filled my hungry tummy.

Derek ordered Rainbow Roll (P 278) and it’s really cute!

He also ordered the Spicy Tuna Salad (P218). I guess he ordered something leafy because he had eaten a lot of popcorn when we watched the movie. Derek and Jeck also had eaten a lot of food while they were waiting for me to arrive. Sure, I was late. I never really changed.

The very first thing that I told to my friends about Sumo Sam is their humungous servings so if you wanted to eat really heavy, Sumo Sam won’t fail. I’m happy with my food and so my pocket because I find it budget-friendly. The servers are prompt even when they got a very busy evening and they also look dapper.
