Shopping in Singapore is an exciting experience, as the city offers a wide range of shopping options, from luxury brands to local finds. Knowing that Singapore is one of the most expensive countries in the world doesn’t mean there are no affordable options available. To help you out, here are the shops where you can find cheaper items in Singapore.
Mustafa Centre
Located in Little India, this 24-hour shopping mall offers an extensive range of products at budget-friendly prices. From electronics to jewelry, clothing, and groceries, it’s the perfect place for a late-night shopping spree.
Mustafa Centre maintains direct partnerships with authorized distributors and manufacturers. This approach allows them to purchase products in bulk, reducing costs, which they pass on to customers through lower and cheaper prices.
Perfumes
Mustafa Centre source their fragrances from reputable distributors and manufacturers, making sure that the scents are authentic and of high quality.
It’s important to note that while prices at Mustafa Centre are competitive, they are not necessarily the lowest available. Some customers have observed that certain perfumes may be priced higher than online retailers, though still more affordable compared to other local stores.
Gold Jewelries
You can also expect to find a lot of gold jewelry around the Mustafa Centre, which is located in Little India.
Gold has deep cultural and religious significance in India. It is often associated with prosperity, wealth, and good fortune. It plays a central role in many traditional ceremonies, such as weddings, festivals (like Diwali), and religious rituals.

Bugis Street
For a cheaper shopping experience, Bugis Street is a vibrant market with trendy clothes, accessories, and souvenirs at bargain prices. It’s a popular spot for tourists looking for something unique.
This is where I spent my time and money when I went shopping :p Here’s a list of what I bought from Bugis Street:
- Singapore tote bag
- Singapore shirt
- Chocolates
- Irvin’s salted egg
ABC Bargain Centre
If you’re looking for where to buy cheap chocolates in Singapore, the chocolates at ABC Bargain Centre are the best bargain. Just make sure to check the expiration date, as it might be closer to the date you purchase them, especially if you’re buying in bulk. Apart from chocolates, there are many grocery items you can buy here that you can bring back to your country.
Albert Centre
This is a hawker centre with a variety of options—noodles, rice, desserts, drinks, and more. You can find it all here. It’s located right across from ABC Bargain Centre.
Haji Lane
Kampong Glam, where Haji Lane is located, is historically the Malay and Muslim quarter of Singapore. While you explore Haji Lane, you’ll also notice the nearby Sultan Mosque, one of Singapore’s most iconic religious buildings. The area blends modern trends with its rich cultural heritage, offering visitors a diverse and dynamic experience.
People also visit here because, aesthetically, there are vibrant murals and unique shop facades that are perfect for street photography.
When it comes to shopping, some of the items I’ve seen at Bugis Street can also be found here in Haji Lane. I noticed, though, that bottled water is cheaper here, and the refrigerator magnets have prettier designs.
What makes this area truly unique is the variety of Islamic items, such as intricately designed carpets, clothes, and many products featuring the evil eye design.
