I forgot to ask the founders, Miss Ines Cabarrus and Mr. Elian Habayeb, why the establishment is called Chihuahua Mexican Grill & Margarita Bar. However, I’ve learned that Chihuahua is not just a dog breed but also a place in Mexico, which probably explains why they offer Tex-Mex cuisine — a fusion of Mexican and American flavors.
Ordering at this Tex-Mex restaurant in Greenbelt is made easy with a step-by-step guide at the counter:

- Choose your meat.
- Choose your preferred type: 3-piece tacos, wrapped burrito, burrito bowl, or salad burrito bowl. This costs ₱295.00. Additional charges may apply after this step.
- Choose your side dish.
- Choose your drink.
*** Nacho Grande is composed of nacho chips, pico de gallo, salsa, ground beef, guacamole, Chihuahua’s queso, sour cream on top, and cheddar cheese.
It’s unique that they serve their food in an aluminum bowl, which reminded me of my baking class back in school. Unlike typical nachos where toppings are just placed on top, their version had a generous amount of ingredients layered all the way to the bottom — quite impressive!
Nachos
Steak Nachos P385.00
This is a Nacho Grande topped with tender, charcoal-grilled American beef. The meat exceeded my expectations!

Chicken Nachos P345.00
Another Nacho Grande variety featuring grilled, marinated chicken breast.

Chips & Queso Special P195.00
A more affordable option with chili con carne topped with cheese.

Their burritos are well-packed and satisfying. They also introduced the Mini-Me, a 10-inch version of their traditional 12-inch burrito, sold for ₱225.00. To avail this for lunch on weekdays, simply like Chihuahua’s Facebook page.
Burrito
Two-Bean Burrito P145.00
Filled with refried beans, black beans, Mexican rice, chipotle salsa, creamy queso, and vegetables.

Picadillo Burrito P295.00
Packed with refried beans, Mexican rice, black beans, Chihuahua’s spicy queso, pico de gallo, lettuce, and your choice of meat. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish this one — oh, carbs!

Sauce
I wished we had been informed about their specialty sauces because they offer quite a variety!

Dessert
Banana Nutella Quesadilla P195.00 or P345.00
This was my first time trying a sweet quesadilla, and I absolutely loved it! Made with fresh bananas, Nutella, and Jiffy peanut butter, this dessert is topped with vanilla ice cream, cinnamon, shaved almonds, and cajeta (caramel sauce).

How about trying a Mexican cuisine with a Filipino taste twist? Silantro located in Alabang should be your next restaurant to try.
Drinks
Aguas Frescas. A traditional non-alcoholic Mexican fruit juice made with melons, pears, or watermelons — a refreshing treat.

Chihuahuarita.A fun term for Chihuahua Margarita. According to Mr. Elian, the key to a great Margarita lies in the ingredients, tradition, and technique. Meanwhile, Miss Ines shared their excitement about introducing Margarita variations like strawberry, red berry, and passion fruit.
We felt lucky to be among the first to try their Strawberry Margarita. For me, it was incredibly refreshing. Interestingly, our drinks were served in glasses instead of traditional Margarita glasses, which added a unique touch. I found the drink stronger than previous Margaritas I’ve tasted — perhaps that’s exactly how a Margarita should be. After all, Mr. Elian is from Texas, which is said to be where the drink was invented.
