I was working near Century Mall in Makati for less than two years yet I never had the chance to roam around there. I mean, I go there to shop office supplies during office hours but other than that, I didn’t get to stay longer.

I got a voucher from Metrodeal and so I asked my high school best friend who is also working within the area to have dinner at a restaurant in one of the Century Mall restaurants, in Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen in particular. The photo below explains it.

Try Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen, a restaurant in Century City.

We ordered gyoza (P150) and the taste did not fail. It was browned but not burned, crunchy but soft, and inside is juicy and flavorful! Their gyoza is highly recommended.

Craving for that crunchy yet juicy gyoza? This restaurant in Century City a plate of 6 gyoza!

Since tonkotsu ramen is the specialty of this restaurant, MJ and I opt to order one.

Google: Tonkotsu means pork bone and refers to the ingredients of the broth. Tonkotsu should be rich and have an almost creamy texture.

The wait staff asked us if we want our noodles soft, normal, or hard. The condiments are all ready on each table and they serve house tea.

I ordered black garlic tonkotsu (P380) because of my curiosity of the taste if the food is black. I mean, I haven’t tried it before. Anyway, it was indeed garlic-y but it does not last in your mouth like boy bawang. LOL! The roast garlic and the broth blended perfectly! I did not know that it is one of their bestsellers not until now!

The bestseller of Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen is black garlic tonkotsu.

Meanwhile, my friend is addicted to curry recently so she’s very predictable. She ordered curry cheese tonkotsu (P380) and I also tried it. Her food is very saporous and heavy, I may say. It is topped with potato, carrots, seaweeds, and parmesan cheese.

The restaurant highlights the wooden interiors which are eye-catching but the lighting is a little dim. I may say that they are a little pricey compared to other ramen houses that I visited. The serving is pretty good since we were really full after. However, the presentation/plating does not look appealing; it’s a good thing that the taste did compensate. The service is fast, but the waitstaff is a bit stiff.

Ambiance: 4.5/5
