Main Street is definitely one of the head-turning restaurants in Kapitolyo, as it’s not very common for Filipinos to come across Canadian comfort food.

With the food I’m about to show, I’m confident I can give you a glimpse of what a Canadian meal tastes like. The menu and dishes are crafted by chef-owner Adam Tan, who spent enough time in Canada to understand their flavor preferences.

Cajun Spiced Prawn Salad
That night, we bloggers started off on a healthy note with the Cajun Spiced Prawn Salad. It had its greens, but definitely not the boring kind. The Cajun-spiced grilled prawns weren’t the only source of flavor — the orange tarragon vinaigrette added a delightful zing.
It’s a must-order!

Poutinerie
The next dish served was one of Canada’s well-known specialties — poutine… or should I say poutato… potato!
We got to try two of the poutines on Main Street’s menu. I actually enjoyed both, but if you prefer more meat in your poutine, the Bacon Poutine is the perfect choice — the bacon is homemade and packed with flavor.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Poutine feels like eating supreme nachos but with even more toppings. It comes with flank steak strips, cheese sauce, tomato salsa, shredded lettuce, and cilantro crema.

Mains
3-Pc Buttermilk Fried Chicken
Judging by its presentation, I knew that the 3-Pc Buttermilk Fried Chicken wasn’t your ordinary fried chicken meal. It’s an 8-hour brined Southern-style dish served with garlic cream sauce. The chicken is crispy, yet it has a surprisingly delightful flavor that I loved. This dish can be served with either rice or fries.

Bacon Jam Grilled Cheese
Main Street offers something quite unique — the Bacon Jam Grilled Cheese. Who would have thought that jam could pair so well with cheese?
Sounds romantic, doesn’t it? The gooey cheese and sweet bacon jam are the perfect example of how opposites attract. This meal also comes with a comforting bowl of tomato soup.

Tomato Braised Seafood Stew
Main Street also offers seafood, and one dish is packed with it! The Tomato Braised Seafood Stew is loaded with prawns, mussels, and fish. The tomato flavor isn’t too overpowering, and the rosemary garnish adds a delightful aroma to the stew.
It can be served with either rice or toasted bread.

Burger
Barbecue Burger
I was totally mind-blown when they served not just one, but four burgers! All of them tasted great, but I liked the Barbecue Burger the most because it comes with strips of applewood-smoked bacon.
And would it be too much if I told you that the Barbecue Burger also has a fried onion ring in it?

Caramelized and Bleu
I also liked the Caramelized and Bleu. I know some people aren’t fond of bleu cheese, but sorry — I am! So, this one’s second on my list.
It’s topped with arugula, garlic mayonnaise, and caramelized onions — hence the name.

Classic Cheeseburger
The Classic Cheeseburger comes with romaine lettuce, sliced tomatoes, grilled onions, cheddar cheese, ketchup, mustard, and pickles.

The Double Bacon is downright sinful. It features their homemade bacon jam and applewood-smoked bacon. The rich kick of mozzarella cheese adds even more deliciousness to this burger.

Pizza
Barbecue Chicken Pizza
I have a confession to make about the Barbecue Chicken Pizza — I can’t really remember how it tasted, so I’d better just share the photo instead.
What I do recall is that it’s topped with chicken, grated cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, barbecue sauce, chopped cilantro, and sliced red onions.

Beef Shin Ragu
Unlike the pizza, the Beef Shin Ragu is a dish I can vividly remember because it offered a unique flavor experience. I know it wasn’t the cheese that caught my attention — it was the impeccable combination of beef shin and their rich tomato sauce.

Dessert
We had plenty of room for dessert at Main Street, and we were fortunate enough to try all the desserts they offer.
I’ll rank them, starting with my favorite — the Blueberry Cheesecake. The cheesecake was perfectly moist, and the sweetness was just right.
Coming in close is the Fudge Brownie a la Mode — it would’ve been even better if the brownie were a bit more moist.
Lastly, the Apple Crumble was also good, but I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if it were drizzled with milk or caramel sauce.

Main Street Apple Crumble

Main Street features grayish brick walls, black and white photos, and black, brown, and white chairs — a cohesive color palette that creates a stylish vibe. The restaurant looks vibrant and youthful, yet with a closer look, you can tell it was once an old house that’s been updated to suit modern tastes.
They also have a function area upstairs and even host company parties — simply because they can! 😜 The restaurant is spacious enough to accommodate such events.
As for the price, it’s reasonable given the fair portion sizes and the thoughtfully curated menu.
Overall, I wouldn’t mind visiting Kapitolyo again just to dine at Main Street.
