As a woman who’s honestly too lazy (and busy) to go to the waxing salon every single month, I started getting tired of the constant routine — the appointments, the pain, the regrowth, and the never-ending cycle. I knew there had to be a better, more long-term solution. That’s when I started researching laser hair removal.
I read countless reviews, compared clinics, and looked into the technology they use — and one name kept popping up: SkinStation. They seem to have a solid reputation and have branches all over, which makes it super convenient. Plus, their packages are actually affordable compared to others I checked.
SkinStation Diode Laser
I went ahead and bought a laser hair removal package directly from their official website. It felt good knowing I was finally investing in something that could save me time, money, and the hassle of monthly waxing appointments.
What is diode laser?
Diode laser hair removal is a method that targets melanin in the hair without damaging the surrounding skin. It effectively reduces hair regrowth and helps prevent ingrown hairs, leaving the skin smoother for longer without bumps or irritation. Compared to Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), diode laser treatment is more precise, as it uses a focused laser beam, and is generally more effective on darker skin tones.

My experience
I bought 5 sessions of diode laser for underarms for only ₱3,000, and 8 + 1 sessions of diode Brazilian for ₱12,000. Price may vary so please check their Facebook page for promos.
Let’s focus on the underarm treatment experience.
During each session, the therapist will ask you to lie down in a private treatment room and prepare the laser machine. You’ll be given protective glasses to shield your eyes from the laser. Before starting, the therapist will ask about your pain tolerance — if needed, they can adjust the machine’s settings for your comfort. The entire procedure usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
After the laser treatment, they apply a soothing cream to calm the skin. The therapist will also recommend purchasing their post-laser cream for ₱250, which you’ll need to apply topically for 3 days after each session to help with healing and reduce irritation.
By my second session, I already noticed that the regrowth was much finer — the hair strands weren’t as thick as before. I go for treatments every 6 weeks.
Right now, there’s still some hair growth, but it’s not as noticeable or dense as it used to be. I’m considering purchasing another package to further reduce or completely eliminate the remaining hair.
SkinStation Axilight Laser
My underarm skin got darker due to contact dermatitis so the doctor of SkinStation advised me to buy Axlight Laser package. The contact dermatitis is due to the skin irritation from the cream I used.
What is Axilight Laser?
Axilight Laser of SkinStation is a laser that emits rapid pulses in fractions of a second, specifically targeting dark melanin discoloration in the skin.
My experience
I purchased 5 + 1 sessions of AxiLight laser for ₱7,000. Price may vary so please check their Facebook page for promos.
While the recommended interval between AxiLight sessions is usually every 2 weeks, my treatment schedule alternates because I also availed of diode laser sessions for underarms. So it goes like this: diode laser, then 2 weeks later AxiLight, then another 2 weeks later diode again, and so on. This alternating schedule works well and keeps the momentum going without overwhelming the skin.
Now, about the difference between the two treatments:
AxiLight laser is administered by a doctor, unlike diode sessions which are usually done by trained therapists. The machine used is also different. During an AxiLight session, you’ll feel electric-like pulses, and the sensation is somewhat comparable to the zap of a mosquito killer — it can be more painful than diode laser, especially in sensitive areas. But don’t worry — the doctor constantly checks in to see if you’re okay and will adjust the intensity if needed. After each session, I also notice a faint burning smell, which is normal as it means the laser is targeting the pigment effectively.
Verdict
For the diode laser, I’d say I’m generally satisfied with the service. However, my goal of not needing to maintain the area anymore hasn’t been fully achieved — while the results are noticeable, I still see some fine hair regrowth under my arms, even after completing all the sessions.
As for the AxiLight laser, I didn’t notice a dramatic difference right away. It was only after finishing all 6 sessions that I began to see real improvement in the treated area. So if you’re considering this treatment, my advice is to be patient — results take time, but they do show up eventually.
