My Stay in Boracay Coco Huts (Travel)

My college friends and I stayed at this 6-room boutique beachfront hotel in Boracay, Philippines for four days and three nights from May 20 to 23 this year. We paid ₱18,600 in total (breakfast not included). We initially settled a ₱9,500 deposit and paid the remaining balance upon arrival. Since there were six of us, we each paid ₱3,100 and availed of the family room.

The hotel follows the usual check-in (2:00 PM) and check-out (12 NN) times. Since we arrived at the hotel at 8:30 AM, we left our bags in their mini lobby and wandered around. We ate, relaxed on the sand, and got henna tattoos to pass the time.

The hotel’s location is excellent — right at the beachfront, on the border of Station 1 and Station 2, where some of Boracay’s best restaurants are situated. It’s all about convenience: walk less, relax more! Facing the beach, heading right gives you easier access to the main road (near Astoria Hotel), while heading left leads to D’Mall.

One cool perk? Guests get a 10% discount at Army Navy, which is conveniently close by. (I love these kinds of tie-ups — if that’s what you call it. Haha!) Interestingly, I noticed that the hotel receptionists also seem to double as the waitstaff at Army Navy.

Our Room

When we got to our room, it was clean, with towels neatly placed on the bed alongside laminated cards. These cards outlined the penalties for stained towels and bed sheets, as well as charges for damaged items. I was quite shocked — some penalties were in the four-digit range!

On the first floor, there was a queen-sized bed, TV, vault box, air conditioner, mini-fridge, shower/restroom, and a mirror.

The second floor — my designated spot — had a single mattress on the concrete floor. I didn’t mind this, though, since I was near the veranda. The view from there was beautiful — I woke up to a stunning scene of coconut trees and the beach every morning. Aside from enjoying beers at night, we also used the veranda to dry our swimwear.

On the third floor, there were two single beds and an air conditioner.

The fourth floor (or extension) had a single mattress on a wooden floor.

There were plenty of outlets to charge our gadgets, and the Wi-Fi worked well too (their password is… lol, kidding!). The room also had a trash can and a broom for tidying up.

The hotel provides a water dispenser for guests, which was handy. However, their staff was quite moody — unnecessarily grumpy, to be honest. Also, if you want your room cleaned, you’ll need to inform them.

During our second day, the air conditioner on the first floor malfunctioned, causing a water leak. Thankfully, the staff responded quickly and fixed the issue.

Final Thoughts

I’d recommend this boutique hotel for groups looking for a budget-friendly place to rest, shower, and enjoy Wi-Fi access. It’s affordable yet stylish. Most of the guests I noticed were also in their mid-20s, like us.

P.S. Apologies for the clutter in our photos — we were already screaming for the air conditioner as soon as we checked in! 😊
