Chateau Royale is a spa and resort in Batangas, Philippines located about 13 km from Tagaytay. Its proximity to Tagaytay is one of the advantages of choosing this accommodation. Tagaytay is known for its cool weather due to its high altitude, making it a popular destination for both tourists and locals who come to relax and enjoy the scenic view of Taal Lake, the smallest volcano in the world. So, if the best hotels in Tagaytay are fully booked, resorting to Chateau Royale Hotel Resort and Spa is a great alternative.

Chateau Royale Rooms
Chateau Royale has a variety of accommodations, as the resort spans 100 hectares. From cabins and townhouses to hotels, Chateau Royale offers something for everyone. My friends and I stayed in the Skylight Tower. The building’s facade is made of glass, which makes it look like a university from the outside. Upon closer inspection, it seems the glass was added to the structure, likely to protect guests from the rain. Nevertheless, it’s great that we could still enjoy the view outside, even from the third floor.

Our room is large, and we were actually five people. It has a living room with a TV, a kitchen bar, a refrigerator, a cabinet, one single bed, and one twin-sized bed. We added three extra beds. The towels and linens were clean, but the blanket was not a comforter. They also provided shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, and tissue.

Meanwhile, here are the other rooms we saw while strolling around. The log cabin looks pretty cool and the townhouses look like we’re somewhere in the US.

The Swimming Pool
The swimming pool at Chateau Royale is something they can be proud of. The pool is huge and also has waves, but it only operates on a specific schedule. If I remember correctly, the schedule in the morning is from 9:00 to 9:30 and again from 11:00 to 11:30.

There’s also a pool bar where the entire pool can be seen and to where the picture above is taken.
Also, there are life-size floaters to play around. Look how fun this is! Even the setting of the pool area looks like a beach.

Other than the wave pool, there is a clubhouse pool near the reception area of the resort that is also big.
The Restaurants
One Fishing Place
We arrived around 12 noon, so we decided to eat at One Fishing Place. It’s a Filipino-themed floating restaurant where there are koi swimming freely underneath our nipa huts. The food served to us tasted great. I just noticed, though, that they like thick sauces a lot.

Asian Grill
The next morning, we ate at the Asian Grill. It’s a buffet type serving Asian cuisine. However, don’t expect much for the food. The exterior of the place looks posh, though.

The Spa
The spa has a promising ambiance that completely made us feel relaxed. Aside from body massages, their spa also has a gym, a sauna, and an indoor pool. We absolutely loved the pool since it felt so private and luxurious. For promos, here are the Chateau Royale rates.

The Service
Since Chateau Royale Resort and Spa is a huge resort, traveling from one area to another can take a lot of time for guests, so they provide shuttle service for everyone’s convenience. The staff is very accommodating and friendly.
The Amenities
Chateau Royale Resort and Spa is very suitable for company outings since the place is spacious. There’s the Forest Sports Bar, a Tent Pavilion that’s good for private functions, and halls for conferences or other events. They also have facilities for team-building activities, such as the obstacle course seen in the picture below.

Activities
Some of the outdoor activities that can be done here are rock climbing, zipline, playground, basketball, badminton, orchidarium, badminton court, swan lake, archery, and aviary.

Overall
Chateau Royale has a lot to offer its guests. While I was there, I noticed that many foreigners chose to stay here. From the statues displayed throughout the resort, I can guarantee that the owner is Chinese. On the other hand, I hope they will continue upgrading their facilities to receive more positive recommendations from guests. It was an awesome experience to stay at such a large resort, but the downside of a property this big is the difficulty in maintaining it. Overall, I can see the success of Chateau Royale’s business in the future, especially since they have most of what people are looking for. I hope they will not only provide what guests need but also what they want—to feel like royalty!
