There are moments in life when you wake up to a surprise invitation you just can’t refuse. For me, that moment came when I groggily answered my phone, still half-asleep, to receive an unexpected call. Situations like this can go either way — good or bad. Thankfully, in my case, it turned out to be a good one!
Last year, I spent Araw ng Kagitingan at La Mesa Eco Park. This year, I celebrated the holiday in Tagaytay. Clearly, this trip was unplanned (yes, that’s the surprise call I was talking about).
Robin, Dionna, Rea, and I visited Sonya’s Garden — the farthest tourist spot in Tagaytay from Manila. Established in 1998, Sonya’s Garden offers more than just a beautiful landscape. It features a restaurant, a spa, a bakery, a scent shop, bed & breakfast accommodations, and more. It’s also an ideal venue for weddings, making it a must-visit destination in Tagaytay, Philippines.

Anyway, the place welcomed us with lush greenery. This only meant one thing for us—unlimited picture taking.

Aside from the beautiful flowers, Robin saw this odd fruit of some sort, so we messed with it. When we got home, we found out that it’s called ‘titty fruit’. Well, I can’t say I didn’t find this funny. Haha!

Sonya’s Garden Restaurant
Morning Glory, The Conservatory, and The Sunflower are the restaurants you’d find at Sonya’s Garden. Unfortunately, we only found Morning Glory.

You can also check restaurants in Sky Ranch Tagaytay for more selections.
Here is what we saw from a store selling various scents.

Meanwhile, we entered a house full of Parisian-inspired stuff. Everything looks lovely there. I wanted to take home one of the items!

There’s also a panaderia where the famous cheese hopia can be found. This bread costs P100.00 per pack, but we didn’t buy it. Instead, we just posed for photos in front of the store — cray-cray! After that, we headed to Carlo’s Pizza for dinner.
