One of the best restaurants or one of the best Taiwanese restaurant in Taipei for breakfast is Fu Hang Dou Jiang. It specializes in soybean milk, youtiao (bread), and dough sticks. Long lines from the second floor to the outside of the building would welcome you in the morning, so it was not a surprise that when we got to the Hua Shan Market, that’s what we saw. My friends and I were laughing that we queued up without confirming what are we lining for is right.
The line was long in Fu Hang Dou Jiang, but it moved faster than we thought because the ordering process was quick; there are more than three food attendants at the front.
We ordered soy milk hot since the temperature is 5 degrees Celcius and it was raining. To us, Filipinos, it tastes like taho. Be sure to mix it well since the sugar is at the bottom part of the bowl.
The food we ordered is what usually ordered by the crowd – the Signature Thick Bread with Eggs and Donut Stick. There’s also a sesame bread version so you decide. And yes, it’s a carb over carb – bread and doughnut stick but heck, who cares! The doughnut stick is crunchy which is also good to tear it and put it on the hot soymilk! At a rainy weather, eating something hot in Taiwan is a thing to look forward to.

The place is at the food court, and Fu Hang Dou Jiang is the only outlet open as early as 6 AM so the seat won’t be a problem. The price is reasonable and the serving is big I got a hard time to consume it all. As I’ve said, the service is fast, they were able to accommodate people right away. It was my first time to try this kind of food so the foodie soul in me was so happy and satisfied with my brekky!
