To be honest, my friends are more foodie than I do. I was having this realization that whenever I’m with friends, I tend to eat more. Truthfully speaking, our whole itinerary in Taipei were arranged by my friends and I was just tagging along wherever we go.
One of the best restaurants in Taiwan that are best reviewed is Sanhoyan. From Shilin Night Market to Shifen Old Street, we took the next level of foodie adventure by dining in at a casual fine dining restaurant.
The Sanhoyan Fried Rice with Egg ($327) is a show stopper. It was served to us in a pyramid shape. It is moist and delectable and so is their bestseller.
Sanhoyan Fried Green Beans $227 (on the left) is a dish with a twist. It is fried with a distinct appetizing flavor. It was a bit dry but we really did not care as we were looking to balance our meal with a vegetable dish.
Stir Fried Prawn Balls with Salty Duck Egg Yolk $327 has a subtle but addicting taste. It is crunchy and the surprising soft bite completes the meal.
The Spicy Deep Fried Chicken $287 is freshly fried until crispy and so are the vegetables that come with it. It’s tasty and we liked it. Most of the veggies are chilis.
Look at how cute these buns are! Here are the sesame bun (black and white), sweet green bean, and the last, salty duck egg yolk & sweet milky bun (gold) won our heart.
Sanhoyan is located on the lower ground floor of a building. The ambiance is sophisticated in a modern way. It is pricier than the normal food we have eaten during our stay in Taipei so we prepared ourselves to spend more money dining in here. As for the serving, it was good enough for us three. The waitstaff can comprehend English but not quite. Nonetheless, they have given us good service that they accommodated us very well. Sanhoyan is a Taiwanese fusion cuisine so it’s really good that we were able to try it. I can tell that it has become one of the best ratings because of the food presentation.
