It was mother’s day when my mother and I visited Cafe Inggo 1587 located at Santo Domingo Church. As my mother who is very Catholic and traditional, I decided to treat her here after going to Santo Domingo Church because based on reviews, the food here is delicious. This restaurant in Quezon City is TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice award in 2021, too so I thought that it is worth giving it a try.

Galantina a la Inggo
From what I’ve read online, Galantina a la Inggo is a standout dish for many, and that’s exactly why I decided to try it. Upon tasting, the blend of freshly ground top round beef and tender chicken creates a rich, savory base. Oven-roasted to perfection and topped with a fresh brown sauce, this dish is undeniably delicious.
Bibingka ni Danda with Salted Egg & White Cheese
I forgot to take a photo of this ultimate Filipino merienda favorite since we had it for takeout. What I liked most is that it’s not overly oily, and it tastes really good, probably thanks to the use of carabao cheese, which gives it a distinct, delicious flavor.

Lechon Kawali
My mother played it safe and ordered something familiar—lechon kawali. But wow, this one was surprisingly great. As the menu says, it’s done “Cafe Inggo style,” and it truly lives up to that description.
Buco Dominico Coconut Ice Cream
Since it was Mother’s Day when we dined in, the waiter gave us this for free. It’s normally ₱150 per scoop! It is supposed to be P150 per scoop. While enjoying it, I appreciated how it felt healthy yet still delicious. It’s a refreshing, lactose-free treat that’s low glycemic, made with virgin coconut oil, and served with generous strips of macapuno for added texture and flavor.

Cafe Inggo Ambiance
love how the front of the restaurant gives off a Spanish vibe—the flowers above the entrance and the arched pillars truly add a European charm. It would’ve been nice to dine al fresco, but it was too hot at the time, so we opted to sit inside.
Inside, the walls showcase sketches of churches by Alex Uy, paintings by Eddie Sarmiento, and portraits of Santo Domingo. Figurines are also on display as you enter, adding to the thoughtful and artistic atmosphere.

Cafe Inggo Service
The waitstaff are all courteous and happy to attend to your needs—most of them are quite young. If you need anything, just ring the bell (yes, a literal bell!) placed on your table. How cute is that?
Overall, dining here is a satisfying experience. I’d definitely come back for a laid-back Sunday meal.
