With the heavy traffic that’s all too common for Filipinos living in Metro Manila, booking a hotel room near an important event can be a smart move. That’s exactly what my high school friends and I did for a wedding we were attending — especially since we were part of the entourage. We didn’t want to look haggard on such an important day!
Last December, we discovered a cozy home away from home at The Linden Suites. This 4-star hotel is located in Ortigas Center, conveniently close to malls, restaurants, and convenience stores — all within walking distance.
Although the hotel’s facade appeared simple, with minimal decorative elements and a rather modest drop-off point, we were pleasantly surprised by what awaited us inside.
Linden Suites Lobby
The lobby had plenty of seating for guests, and the staff at the entrance were efficient in assisting us with our bags, ensuring a smooth check-in experience.
Upon entering our room, we were surprised by how spacious it was! We booked a one-bedroom suite for ₱5,000 (no breakfast included) for four people. The rate was arranged under a corporate account through our friend, so I’m unsure how it compares to the regular rate.
Kitchen
The kitchen was fully equipped with cooking pans, plates, utensils, a refrigerator, oven, percolator, and a stove — perfect for preparing our own meals. You can spot some of our shopping bags in the photo. LOL!
Dining Area
We brought liquor to enjoy the night! While we booked the room for four people, there were six of us in the photo. Why? Because one couple decided to get their own room!
Living Room
The dining area and living room are close to each other, yet far enough to provide ample space. The room’s size was honestly impressive.
There’s also a study table beside the TV, which was perfect for setting up my laptop (I juggle a part-time job on the side).
Bedroom
The bedroom was clean and comfortable, and we requested an extra bed to accommodate everyone. While the room itself was spotless, the glass window wasn’t very clear — possibly due to the rain that day.
The bedroom also had a TV, which was a nice touch!

The bathroom was spacious as well, though I was disappointed to find that there was no bidet.
Wi-Fi: The hotel only allows two devices to connect to their Wi-Fi per room. The connection was okay, but not exceptional.
Overall Experience
The Linden Suites is a great choice for group stays with friends or family, thanks to its spacious rooms and cozy atmosphere. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the yellow lighting added an upscale vibe.
The hotel’s location is highly convenient, though you can expect heavy traffic in the area — something that’s, unfortunately, a normal part of life in Metro Manila. I couldn’t help but feel sorry for the foreign tourists who had to endure our city’s chaotic transportation system.
I didn’t get a chance to check out the pool area since we arrived late and had to prepare for the wedding early the next morning.
Despite that, I was happy with the hotel’s service — the staff promptly provided everything we requested, from chinaware to an extra comforter and towels.
