This post will be all about our second day in Moalboal, Cebu. Let’s get this started!

Sardines Run

It’s called a Sardines Run because a massive group of fish — possibly one million or more — can be seen swimming together to protect themselves from larger predators. It’s fascinating to watch their swirling motion take on various shapes. Our tour guide did an excellent job of capturing this mesmerizing natural phenomenon.

Turtle Watching

Our tour guide warned us that we might not spot any turtles because it was low tide — and he was right. Turtle watching can be done at Panagsama Beach or Talisay Point.

Pescador Island

Pescador Island is easy to locate since it’s isolated from other islands. Its name comes from the Spanish word “fisherman”, as this was once a popular fishing spot due to its rich marine resources. The island is home to vibrant coral reefs and abundant aquatic life.

I recommend wearing leggings instead of shorts here — one of my friends got stung by a jellyfish! While we were admiring the colorful underwater scenery, I suddenly spotted a black-and-white striped sea snake gliding gracefully through the coral reefs. We panicked — and rightfully so! Our tour guide later told us that it was a deadly snake, so our decision to leave quickly was the right call. We moved on to our next tour stop afterward.

Canyoneering Adventure

The Badian Canyoneering Adventure is best enjoyed over 4 to 5 hours, especially if you want to capture great photos along the way. Our group of seven was accompanied by two tour guides from Lucero Travel and Tours, who ensured we had a thrilling yet safe experience.

The canyoneering adventure usually costs ₱1,500 per person, but since it was included in our tour package, we didn’t have to pay extra.

Kawasan Falls

Our tour guide explained that they planned our tour in reverse so that our grand finale — and well-deserved trophy after the thrilling and exhausting canyoneering adventure — would be the stunning Kawasan Falls.

In the past, visitors were allowed to jump from the falls, but this was discontinued after an unfortunate accident.

Kawasan Falls stands 40 meters (130 feet) high. There are food stalls available in the area, and many tourists choose to stay here since there’s a pavilion where everyone can relax and unwind.

The entire adventure took 10 hours to complete, from pick-up to drop-off. We had an amazing time on this Moalboal tour!

Our bodies may have experienced muscle pain and bruises that took a few weeks to heal, but the fun and unforgettable memories we created will stay with us forever.
