Quezon City, though known as the most populated city in the Philippines, is not very much popular to skyscrapers as compared to Makati, the business district of the country.

For a person like me who is living in Quezon City, discovering Chill Top restaurant and bar in Quezon City was a bit of luck if I may say. I wouldn’t have to go in Makati or in Ortigas and brave myself to 2-3 hour traffic just to indulge my eyes with the scenic view of the city because this roof deck resto bar is just located in Cubao. In addition to that, the comfort food and the booze are budget-friendly to the locals so everything is very much favorable.

We went there before sunset and it was just majestic. Tho the penthouse is just up to the 14th floor, there are not many neighboring buildings that would disrupt the 360 view of the city which truly makes the resto bar a good place to chill.

At night, the view is more lovely because of the twinkling city lights.

Most of the food served are “pulutan” or snacks for the alcoholic drinks but don’t worry as they serve rice. The chicken barbecute (P165) is generously coated in sauce. It’s called “mini” but it still contributed to making my tummy full. The Hickory Dickory Pork (P254) has a sweet sauce yet I’m telling you not to expect too much of the tenderness of the meat.

The newest addition to their menu, Flasher Squid (P320), is indeed flashy. It was served to us in its towering state where the squid is coated to add crispiness with the vinegar dip on the side. The flasher squid tasted great, seasoned well.

During my first visit, I was able to get into their Chill Along, an amenity for people who wants to go singing. I have tried a lot of drinks that night but it is Choco Slush P205 (gin, vodka, rum, chocolate, and milk) that captured my taste buds. It is sweet but not too much and alcoholic but not quite. It’s a drink I got to enjoy the most.

Going to Chill Top Cubao is not disappointing whether it will get crowded or not since it occupies two floors. The first floor of the penthouse is airconditioned but the glass windows still made us have a beautiful view. At night, it comes with the live band.

Meanwhile, the second floor of the penthouse is the open-air one with the 360 view.

And lastly, a Chill Along KTV Bar is located near the elevator and is also spacious. It can accommodate 30 pax plus it has own comfort room. The price as I have said is pocket-friendly and the serving is reasonable for the price. The taste is delicious but nothing exceptional. The waiters are polite but the food was prepared for a long time.
