I learned about Il Padrino Coffee from a blogger, and I was convinced to try out the place through her blog post. Fortunately, my spontaneous friend, Robin, gave me a call and asked if we could have dinner at a restaurant in Quezon City. Without hesitating, I suggested we try Il Padrino. There, we had complimentary slices of chewy and tasty pieces of bread while we wait for our food.

Il Padrino Coffee Sandwich

We ordered Bacon and Cheese Monte Cristo (P 160.00). It is a sandwich dipped in egg and then fried until golden brown. It is similar to Mini Stop’s Kariman.

We wanted to have a fish dish, so we ordered Tuna Melt (P 160.00). It is topped with mozzarella and (I’m guessing) fresh tuna, so I liked it. However, the potato wedges on the side were a tad too salty.

Il Padrino Coffee Pasta

The Seafood Marinara (P180.00) is the best! It is not too sour unlike most Bolognese dishes, and it is not too sweet unlike Jollibee’s spaghetti. Moreover, the dish is packed with shrimp, squid, and fish fillet.

Il Padrino Coffee Dessert

We ordered Opera Cake, too. Opera Cake is a French cake which has layers of sponge cake with ganache and buttercream. However, we were not quite happy with this one. Haha! We emptied the dish anyway. After all, it was still our dessert.

Il Padrino Coffee Drinks

Robin ordered a large Cappuccino and I ordered Toffee Coffee— their best seller. My drink was delicious!

From the brick walls to the vinyl photo murals, the ambience would make you feel like you are in Italy. The price is very affordable for the taste and serving size of the dishes they offer. I hope they won’t change their pricing for a very long time. It took 15 minutes for our orders to arrive, but that’s okay. The wait staff is friendly and knows what food to suggest.
