Osmeña Peak is a must-visit place in the Philippines because of its majestic view once your atop of the peak. When you’re 1,013 meters above sea level viewing the irregular hill shapes and the ocean as a backdrop, you cannot put into words how perfect are these imperfections. Imagine that will be you when you visit Osmeña Peak.

When to go to Osmena Peak?
We expected a sunny trek just like what we had in Badian Canyoneering from yesterday’s itinerary but a foggy and chilly weather greeted us. It was March when we visited there so it really came as a surprise that it was extremely cold when we got there.
If you are planning to visit Osmeña Peak, it’s best to visit during summer which starts in March and ends in May. I guess we were quite unlucky that day.
With the clothes we’re wearing on, the weather caught us off guard. Some of us were wearing wet clothes from Inambakan Falls and we didn’t practically changed clothes because we thought we would go to Sumilon Island next. The strong waves going to Sumilon Island made us decide to move to our next destination instead. So here we come, Osmeña Peak!
Obviously, the clothes we were wearing as seen in the picture was pretty off. We were wearing shorts but we were also wearing jackets at the same time. In case you’re wondering, we didn’t bring the jackets with us. There are jackets in the area for PHP 50 that you can rent to survive the cold temperature. It pretty much served me well.
How Long to Hike Osmeña Peak?
The hike to Osmena Peak from the jump-off point usually takes around 20 to 30 minutes, depending on your pace and fitness level. If, however, you are a leisure trekker like us who takes endless photos and 360 videos, it could probably take you 1 hour to reach the top.
The trek was easy breezy. Whether you are an advanced hiker or a beginner, the hike won’t tire you out. There’s a trail that you can follow so won’t totally get lost. If you feel tired, you can take a pause and enjoy every view. You can also just simply make an excuse you’re taking photos when in fact you’re just really tired climbing up. Make your choice!
Honestly, I was just in awe, it felt like I have already dreamt about this place.
Or maybe I just thought that I was dreaming when in fact maybe I have just seen this from Game of Thrones setting.
On the way up, we’ve seen cabbages and beautiful flowers! Apart from the weather, Osmeña Peak was like Baguio as soon as I’ve seen those cabbages. Apparently, there are other vegetables as we went up. It is also known as the “Vegetable Basket” of Cebu or “Little Baguio” because of the vast vegetable farms in the area.
